Corsa: The Name That Represents Performance

Sure, plenty of manufacturers can provide you with a nice exhaust system that improves performance while making the car sound better. But, all too often, critical aspects like comfort and drivability, as well as the actual longevity of the system, are left out of the equation. For many builds, this may be perfectly fine. However, when you really want to nail down performance paired with quality materials, a perfect fit, and excellent sound quality—all without sacrificing comfort—Corsa Performance is who you call.

Who is Corsa Performance?

So, let’s back up a bit because in the year 2020, it certainly seems like we have plenty of offerings to suffice these needs. In order to truly appreciate what Corsa is bringing to the table, we need to time travel to 1998. That’s when these guys hit the market with nothing short of perfection in mind.

What put Corsa on the map was the development of its RSC (Reflective Sound Cancellation) exhaust systems. Essentially, this design diverts unwanted low-frequency sound waves through special channels in the muffler. This causes them to “reflect” into one another, effectively cancelling each other out and eliminating drone.

Simply put, Corsa’s RSC technology works to cut the fat right off the exhaust notes, eliminating all the poor frequencies that make driving a high-performance vehicle unpleasant. Plus, the company uses a straight-through design that ensures dramatic gains in horsepower and torque, delivering that aggressive, throaty exhaust note we all love during acceleration, without any of that whiny drone once you get going.

Corsa’s patented RSC technology is no doubt a big deal, but it’s far from the only thing that’s applause worthy about the brand. With exhaust in mind, Corsa carefully develops each system to perfectly match its intended application in order to help drivers get the most out of an engine. And, in addition to perfect pitch and performance, expect timeless good looks to match—thanks to a polished stainless finish. Corsa also develops performance headers along with other exhaust accessories to help you build the perfect system for your car.

Breathe In

We all know Corsa primarily as an exhaust company, but—to be fair—they should be recognized as a proud brand that’s laser focused on all around performance-level air flow.

Back in 2012, Corsa got into the air intake game and while it may seem like a strategic move simply to boost revenue, the company has taken the segment seriously. A few years back, Corsa, alongside sister company Volant, showcased an innovative sealed intake system with customizable acrylic lid at SEMA.

Offering all the benefits of a sealed intake, like directly-sourced cold air, blocked heat, and maximum filtration protection in dusty environments, it also addresses filter visibility issues thanks to the see-through lid. Not only does this make maintenance a lot easier, but it also looks great under the hood!

Show ‘Em What You Got

And, speaking of SEMA, what Corsa showcased at the 2019 show really says a lot about the brand and who it works to serve. These guys paired up with husband and wife team, Justin and Danielle Norton of Atlanta Custom Wraps, to put together a Lightning-inspired F150. (If you’re unfamiliar with the Ford Lightning, it was a supercharged, all-out performance package of the standard F-150 and it was beautiful.)

This build pays homage with an aggressive Belltech Sport Truck suspension, Whipple supercharger, Corsa exhaust (obviously), Velgen-forged wheels, carbon fiber exterior accessories, Nitrous Express nitrous system, and a sweet throwback vinyl wrap.

What does this say about Corsa? Well, the truck and off-road division often gets ruled out when it comes to upgrades that feature a level of elegance, especially with exhaust. I think it’s fair to assume most people associate the community with big, hairy, macho systems that aim to rattle the windows of other drivers and little else.

This isn’t a stigma that Corsa let’s get in its way, though. Regardless of whether it’s mowing down stumps or gliding across asphalt—an engine is an engine—and performance is just as important in either scenario. A tuned exhaust does more than make an engine sound good, it levels out cylinder pressure and increases air flow, which ultimately results in not just a taller power band but a flatter one. In some cases, this may be something you’re willing to rule out—but it’s not always the most ideal route.

New Year, New Product

All of that said, Corsa is a brand dedicating itself to bringing premium performance to all categories, whether it’s a ‘Vette carving the roads, a Lightning on the drag strip, or even a Tacoma on the trail.

Corsa’s 2020 product lineup drives home this point. For next year, we see Corsa Performance pumping out Active Valve exhaust systems for the new C7 Corvette, as well as systems and components for the Jeep Gladiator, upcoming Wrangler, and Grand Cherokee Trackhawk.

The latter proves our point: whatever your application of choice, if you’re a fan of high-tier exhaust systems… you can count on Corsa.
